One year ago today we were sitting in a beach house on the Southern coast of Denmark watching 'Paranormal Activity' in the dark. Today we are saying goodbye after touring together for fourteen months through seven countries. Thank you Alessandro Visentin, Matthew Neal and Katherine Rodden for teaching me how to cook, travel and photograph. Fire forges the strongest steel. I will never forget this journey.

What better way to celebrate our last night together as a White Horse travelling troupe? Raiding the costume store and going out for a traditional Japanese feast with our super Japanese ladies :) Apparently 'the Corpse Bride' is the ideal outfit to wear if you intend on performing a comedy rendition of 'Stand By Your Man' in a karaoke bar at 3am. Can it still be the performance of a lifetime if it's to an audience of twelve?!

Things I have noticed after seven weeks in Japan: The Japanese may as well have a PhD in 'disgust management'. As expected, white masks covering nose and mouth are a common sight in Japan (though I didn't realise they are worn by the sick, to avoid spreading their own germs around). I seem to spend most of my time here carrying rubbish around. No, I have not become a crazy bag lady (though my friends wouldn't be the least bit surprised). It appears that the recycling system in Japan is so technologically advanced that there's nowhere to dispose of actual, bog-standard trash. There's an almost ridiculous array of public bins for everything from bottle caps to tissues (I'm surprised there's no facility for the disposal of pervy Japanese men,...

Taken out to dinner by our Japanese administrators in the nearby town of Kitano, I don't think we were quite prepared (or drunk enough) but who needs dessert when you've got 'Hey Jude' to wash your sashimi down with :) And we didn't even have to move from the dinner table!
