Once you have mastered how to spell the name of the capital city you are good to go! Rather like Vietnam, it is not so long ago that Cambodia was considered as extreme tourism. The hideous civil war that saw the Khmer Rouge create genocide celluloid with "The Killing Fields", and yet more American foreign policy faux paux, is now 30 years ago and people like me, having read the book and watched the film, are keen to visit and realise my curiosity.
We are mainly flying with Air Asia, who have not embraced the small print Gestapo tactics of Ryanair, no bingo tickets and relentless selling of duty free! Their only foible is that they quite like to leave earlier than scheduled! Using them as our hub, we fly via Bangkok to then go back on ourselves, a bit, to PP as it shall be now known, rather than looking it up every time I write it!
