Can't really help you here as we are staying at an airport hotel having checked in at 1.00am and out again at 9.30 later that morning. As its a city and a country, there's not a lot to see or do and once you've done the zoo, afternoon tea at Raffles and drunk the obligatory Singapore sling which was invented at their cocktail bar, that's your lot. It is worth pointing out that coming in to land over the bay you do see an extraordinary number of ships, large and small, waiting to disgorge. As Angelka pointed out, it looked like the Jubilee flotilla! The airport represents the magnificent infra structure that is Singapore, manicured, landscaped, clean, highly organised. It is to Asia what I think Frankfurt is to Europe, and that's meant as a compliment!
So, I thought I'd call this the half way point and get all statistical; we've been on the road for 20 days, visited 6 countries, had 13 flights, been in the air for 45 hours and 10 minutes, stayed at 9 hotels, filled up the first 4 pages of my new passport, paid no excess baggage.... and had a blast! We've had only one delay, of only 40 minutes, and one immigration hold up. the only curved balls have been coming into the sordid side of the sex tourism industry in Phnom Penh and Clark and the incredible cost of things in Australia. the two items we found that were cheaper were petrol and Nurofen. If I could have ingested petrol fumes when filling up I would have considered the resultant headache remarkable value for money!
Next stop Indonesia, or more specifically, Borobudor, a site of many temples and historical importance.
