My first blog entry marking my 30th birthday, yippeee! Today I am absolutely FULL of butterflies and anticipation for my forthcoming adventure...!! What a great way to end one decade and start another :).

The last couple of months have been an absolute whirlwind of sorting out my life, organising all manner of things for this trip, leaving work, shopping for the millions of items I am convinced I will need (my god did I need a PA, and a personal shopper too would have been nice), squeezing it all into my suitcase and rucksack (a miracle it somehow all got in, but it will be a bigger miracle if I can actually lift it without breaking my back) and of course getting around to saying all those ggodbyes to the fabulous people I am lucky enough to have in my life as friends and family...that was soooooo hard! It's been the most emotional few weeks.

But today was the best way to top it all off - a lovely family get together, gorgeous food at my favourite restaurant, cake, champage, and fireworks, I really couldn't ask for a better send off!

So it's here, flying in the morning and simply can't wait... better get some sleep. Goodbye England, be prepared Ghana!

(Oh and about the picture... that's me, about 2 years old (courtesy of my wonderful dad who managed to find heaps of photos of me from when I was literally new born, all the way up to thirty, and hung them all around the house - as if that wasn't going to get the tears flowing! Thanks dad). Oh how I have grown! But still treating life like one big playground of course!)
