Dean and Claire's t'internet travel journal
Hi y'all,
Our last day in the Cameron highlands was pretty uneventful. The only news I have was that there was a shockingly huge spider parked outside our room for two days. It was the biggest spider in the world ever, and I couldn't even force myself to walk past it, meaning I had to do a five minute detour around the block to get to the toilets each time. Blinking thing. Dean got a photo, but even that makes me cringe. brrrrr (that's me cringing)
After the Highlands we caught the bus down to Kuala Lumpa, the Malaysian capital. In Kuala Lumpa we ventured to the lake gardens, where we visited a deer park, an Orchid garden and the national museum. We also went into China town, where Dean and I went a bit mad with the bargin cd's; think we came away with about 15 between us! (was 3 for 1.50gbp so what can you do?)
Two days ago we flew into Bangkok, where we are intending to do all the things we missed out on last time, before venturing to northern Thailand. Today we visited the grand palace and the Wat Phra Kaew, which were very impressive. Dean wants to watch a proper Thai boxing match at the stadium while we are here, and has also mentioned going to watch some of the 'Miss world' competition; for the cultural experience he says. yeah right.
I have been struck down with a nasty flu bug for the last couple of days, which always starts alarm bells ringing when you are in this part of the world (Malaria? dengue? ...i've considered them all) However, I went to the doctors yesterday and they gave me the most thorough medical examination I have had in my life. I now have a ten page print out of all my stats; from the condition of each of my organs to the amount of sodium in my body! It's good news. the doctor says I'm normal. *Dean scoffs and gets another whack*
Anyway feeling good today *she adds quickly before her Mum starts searching the internet for a tropical disease she may have*
Love to all, Claire x
