Tams World Tour
Hi All
Am now in Singapore. We are staying at a hostel in Little India which is fairly central. Have a roof top garden with little pool and free internet access so everyone has been really chuffed!
On Thursday we made our way to Raffles for a Singapore Sling. It was very tasty but cost $20 which is about 7 squid so pretty pricey but an experience not to be missed. It was pretty weird to see monkey nut shells all over the floor but quite cool to just eat them and chuck them wherever - quite enjoyed that! On Friday we did the tourist thing and checked out the Merlion (a giant stone statue of a cross between a lion and a mermaid as the name suggests!) unfortunately it was raining for most of the day and has been raining pretty much since we got here - when not raining very humid. Went out that night to a crazy karaoke bar for dinner then got very drunk with the gang before ending up in a gay Indian nightclub dancing and playing table football (obviously I thought I was IT before realising that we were in a gay club. Gutted). Last night we went to the Night Safari which was excellent - lions, giant bats, rhino and more - it was really good and the atmosphere is brilliant - made better by the thunderstorm that took place whilst we were there!
Today I have been to Sentosa Island on the Cable Car. It was great - a very touristy place but has loads to see and a great beach which was really good as the weather has been cracking today. Caught the very clean and efficient train to get there - really good public transport here and although Singapore is expensive it does pay off.
Last night tonight before I leave for Sydney tomorrow to stay with Emma and Dave. The next entry will be tales of our road trip - BRING IT ON! The tour has been excellent and I cant believe I have been through three countries already and have met some cool people - some of which I am meeting in Sydney on Wednesday which should be good.
Australia here I come ...... xx
