Hi all hope your all enjoying the snow..?? Wish I was there........not. So yesterday after at least 5 hours sleep ...yes the jet lag has kicked in...we spent the day in Devonport a quaint victorian seaside resort. Brilliant day as we went on a magic broomstick tour !!!! Handy hey when your a witch !! It was supposed to be 1 1/2 hours on this Segway * with a fish and chip supper on the way round.Well after a bit of tuition off we went.

* The Segway is a mode of transport that they have been trying to encourage in the UK but it hasnt really taken off..it has 2 wheels the size of car wheel hubs and you stand on a platform. To make it go forward you push the t bar handle forward and to stop you lean back ( all to do with weight displacement of your toes and heels) We left at 6 in the eve and did a few manoevres...there were a few random ad libs thrown in by those who will remain anonymous but basically we both want one !!!I can only describe it as skiing but skiing up hill ....unheard of.We did a complete tour of Devonport ,up volcanoes, across cricket pitches....etc and it didnt take long before we both turned into Michael Schumacher.The highlight being sitting at the top of mount Victoria eating fish and chips...whilst watching the Brit team BEAT Nz team in the Pacific Series (previously the American Cup) and then from the top you can see a radial view of Auckland and all its islands...on one side the moon was coming up and behind you the sun was going down !!! Awesome !! After lots of playing and another ascent of another volcano we returned to base...3 hours later . Thats what I call a bargain.The extremely mature guy taking the tour was a great character and is coming to blighty in Aug to see us hopefully.

Today we had a quiet day boring ..reorganising bags and organising onward travel.I did manage to buy myself some very funky Timberland trekking trainers tho....there I knew I could get some of your pulses going lol.Ok off to stay with friends tomorrow on the way to meet Georgie and Jo inTongariro National Park.Theyre going on a day trek to MORDORwith Rob thats Frodo Sam and JoJo off to find his ring...hmmm?...I can hear you say...And Bilbo Baggins ???....She's staying at the hostel ,cos she's got books to read and a spa pool to try out oh and maybe a bit of internet ....Who knows ..???
