Oh dear....much celebrating after the success of the Giant Puppet parade, makes Tina feel pretty rough today but a great time had by all.All the kids were trucked in on 4 trucks (150 kids nearly) and they were screaming and shouting "Cha !!! Cha !!! " this is what they call us. Not Cambodian for teacher but lazy abbreviated shortened teacher. Most of them never come into town ,some have never been in to town. And the people watching , and there were loads , were nearly as excited as the kids.We handed out the hats and shakers we had made during the week(its amazing what you can produce from a water bottle, chopsticks and tissue paper. We sang and chanted and laughed our way round the route. It was very tiring , extremely hot and sweaty but we had the best time ever .My cheeks hurt so much from smiling.I do have some pictures but it was our job to keep the kids safe. There are some very nasty characters about sometimes but it all went brilliantly and we managed to get them all back to the trucks and off they went singing and screaming, back to there villages. There were so many spectators Western and Khmer and we have all had some great comments today on how fabulous it was and how happy the kids looked .
Kid free!!!! Beer time !!! and "bucket" time.Thats why I feel a bit rough today.I do belive we were dancing at a bar called Angkor Famous. We had a great chat with 3 rugby players from Manchester who we left arm wrestling with the girls .
Today we went out for brekky and then spent a couple of hours watching the kids play footy. Some wins and some losses but they loved it anyway.
Con Con thanks for the lovely message Of course I will be your teacher when I get home but i think I will have to give the Headmistress job a miss.My teaching methods are slightly unorthodox. So excited about Skyping the kids later AND SCRUMPY !!!! We really miss him...... oh and all you lot too xx
