Only ME !!!! hope everyones fit and healthy as apart from Joe and Brenda we havent really heard from anyone ????? Our friend Moeuth is still not really conscious but is apparently opening his eyes when his brother Mias talks to him . I think it will be a long a process but ....all bits crossed. We are off to a fund raising quiz this evening for him. This week has gone quickly for many reasons .Today we have a public holiday and so we have no school at Grace House but we have been in touch with our Cambodian friend from last year and we are visiting his school this afternoon as it stays open. I have this feeling that we may be doing a bit of impromptu teaching this afternoon....but it will be nice to see Mr Sambo and Mr Nathu again and see how the school and the village are progressing.
Another reason for the week disappearing so quickly is the childrens Giant Puppet parade on Saturday evening through town.Last week we were at the puppet project with the kids for the day helping to make a Giant 5 headed Naga. All the NGO childrens projects have made something and they will be parading them through town (illuminated !!!!) on Saturday evening .Luckily we only have to look after about 100 of the kids !!!!! OMG I am so excited but apparently its chaos .Where we end up is in a huge park with no lights ....we have to round up OUR kids and get them back on the truck so that they can be taken back to there villages.THEY ONLY NEARLY LOST 2 LAST YEAR!!!!!God help us ...but hopefully it should be fine.
This morning we went to the Wat Bo temple at 6.00am as it is a holy day and we sat in with the women and listened to the monks .Sharon and Juta came with us and we felt very enlightened afterwards so off we went to a little gem we have found hidden away down a backstreet called "Le Boulangerie".....its a bakery and we had fresh croissants and the best coffee and freshly sqeezed orange juice. Not a noodle or a grain of rice in sight. On that note the food we have had so far has been fabulous.I still think the street market food on pub street is some of the freshest and tastiest and cheapest (60p for dinner and 60p for a beer !!!)But last night Juta wanted to buy us dinner as she was leaving this morning. She took us to a beautiful little restaurant where we drank Mojitos and a glass of wine and Rob had Lak Lok (made with fresh fillet of RARE beef ) which he said was delicious and I had chilli prawns with ginger also fabulous.JUta paid....thank you very much and we had a lovely evening. You will all meet her because she lives in Aylesbury and has promised to visit.Sadly Blob has bubbly belly today but has just informed me that one of the kids gave him a coconut rice cake yesterday .........oh dear...hopefully the imodium will sort that out.Ok I'd better go check on him.Laterz xxxxx
