We booked our bus out of Cartagena to Medellin for 5.30, we then headed out for breakfast and to the bank. 3 transactions and the bank hasn't blocked my card... This is a record! Money in hand we headed to a barbers to get my hair cut, not knowing the Spainish for short back and sides with a bit of funk on top, but go easy on the windows peak ( i'm 27 not 62) it was a bit of a gamble. Straight in with the clippers and vast amounts of hair falling I looked at Stevie in the reflection of the mirror, she could see the panic. Then come out the cut throat razor to trim the back and sides. ....there had to be blood.... 15 minutes, £3.50 spent. I had a new do that looked good. Back at the hostel we checked out and stayed by the pool until our bus would arrive. Stevie read her kindle while I sowed my Columbia badge on to my backpack while Listening to my iPhone, you know when it's hot when your iPhone turns off and says its too hot and need to cool down. Warning on board I took a dunk in the pool. The hostels dog which I named 'Rabies' (to be honest we have named every dog Rabies) joined me at the pool wanting to play fetch.
Back out of the pool I sunbathed while Stevie made lunch.
Within minutes I was dripping with sweat!! Not just a glaze, literally soaked. I could wipe my hand over my body and flick sweat to the floor. Where I had put sun cream on earlier it looked like I was sweating milk!
To hot I had a shower! The funny thing is I was more wet going into the shower than coming out!!
5.30 approached so we wanted for our bus at reception, 5.45 still no sign, but 6.00 the owner came up to us and asked if he could help. We casually said we were waiting for the bus to Medellin..... He then said something that hit us like a bomb shell 'don't you know you have to go to the bus station' WTF!!!
We had missed our bus!!! We thought it was like the last hostel and did door to door service!
As the hostel didn't tell us, they took responsibility and managed to move us to a priority list and get the 9.30 bus!
Finally at the station, a rat burger later we were on our way.
