HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMMA! The 6-0 today and as everyone says you don't look it, no one knows what it's supposed to look like but for sure you look a lot younger!
It was like a military operation, I'd been carrying around the balloons and banners for the last two weeks and her birthday presents. Now it was up to dad and Ross to get the job done by putting them all up and me trying to keep mum in the room without her hearing or seeing haha.
And of course the imaginative and creative ones pulled it off! Ross had also run around Oia this morning trying to find a bakery to get cake for mum to blow her candles out haha, balloons and confetti everywhere, all her cards and presents, we got sparkling wine and orange juice for mimosa's it was great out on the balcony! Of course it was the only windy day we had had in Santorini so there was confetti flying everywhere haha!
Diamond earrings for a diamond birthday and a diamond of a woman! The video went down a treat aswell with everyone on it and we reduced her to happy tears haha!
Afterwards we went for the long hike along the mountain coast Oia town to Fira, it was about a 10KM walk which was beautiful with an awesome view! Breathtaking view!
We had lunch in the north of Fira town, some awesome salads that we ordered. All so tasty snd fresh!
The bus back to Oia and then we chilled for a few hours before taking her on a surprise wine tasting to Santo Wines with the lovely sunset.
Didn't go as to plan they didn't inform me that the wine cellar shut early so we missed the last tour so there would have been no need for us to rush, then we didn't bring our sunglasses so we were squinting. Urghhhh. But it was nice we had a cheese board and two wine plates for us to taste, not the most amazing wine I have ever tasted I think that award goes to New Zealand (of course) but nether the less it was nice and then we watched sunset before we had dinner. And we can't forget, what the theme this summer has been surrounding me? People getting engaged of course…. Yep you guessed it he was down on one knee across the way from us and if that wasn't enough whilst we were sat eating there was a wedding going on directly in our eye line up on the cliff above us, a Scottish one and he played the Scottish anthem on his bagpipes, very lovely but I'm all engaged and wedding'ed out this summer and I missed the important one.. today was Ellas wedding day in York.
Anyways the meal was lovely but I ordered tuna tartare and it was ant size meal which was slightly annoying seeing as I thought I would have the biggest one on there compared to everyone's order.
What an amazing day and lovely evening! Hope mum had a wonderful time, it was great we were all able to get together!
Love you to the moon and back
xoxo
