Hey, once again I must aplogise for not updating my blog earlier, its been so mad the last week not really had chance to do anything.
I think the last time I wrote I was in Jhansi. We left there on the train heading for a place called Indore. We bumped into a really lovley couple Jasmine and Aders. She was from England and he was from Denmark. We tooka cooking class together and now I can cook any Indian dish you can name. :) Whilst chatting they recommended that we go to Udipur to see the Floating Palace. This was the place where Octop**** was shot, the James Bond Film. The place was amazing, I would say one of the most romantic places on the planet. I had a really good time there. Apart from the Palace, which is now a $500 a night hotel, there isnt that much to see but we found a hotel with marble floors for 7 pound a night. It was good to recharge the battery, im in need of a beach I think.
Whilst in Udipur we met a French couple who had driven a campervan from France to the Pakistan border. This is where they got stuck, they couldnt get a Visa so they had to ship the van to India. It was great to chat whith them about Iran as they had just come from there. I have been toying with the idea of going to the middle east and travelling Iran, Syria and Jordan. Its comes down to money really, Ive been told about a cheap route by boat to Iran via Dubai. If this is possible I may go. I still havent made a final decision but i think at this stage it would cost too much to fly and I do really want to see Indonesia, Borneo and Burma. I think it would be better to do that before heading to Africa. Ill keep you posted.
The plan from Udipur was to go to a National Park and do a elephant sarfari to see tigers in the wild. Anounsheh decided though that she would like to see Nepal so we took a train to Delhi to get her a transit visa. This is where I am now., having spent 2 days going back and forth, we have finally found that Anousheh cant get any kind of visa or flight home from nepal. So she leaves on the 3rd November, I am a little sad, im going to miss her loads, she has been such a laugh and its going to strange for a bit, going on my own. Im sure I will be fine though.
So now the plan is to head north to Corbett National Park and do the elephant trekking there. Im then going to head up to Amristar and Jasalmer to do a camel safari and see the golden temple.
I havent done that much in the last week I must admit as we have had loads to sort and TBH we need a bit of a break from all the miles we have done. Anoushesh dragged me around what has seemed like every shop in Delhi. Its a strange place for shopping India, somethings like magazines are like 1 pound compared to 4 back home, where as trainers are 4x as much as back home. I did pick up a really nice pair of levi jeans for 15 quid yesterday and no there not fake. lol
I think after Nepal I will only spend maybe 2 weeks more in India as it has been more expensive than I thought. I have to add about India that it has disappointed me in a way, as Ive never been to a country where almost every person is trying to rip you off. When we were shopping yesterday in the posh shops, we got told by a local that even there, there are two prices. One for Indian people and one for foriegners. Its been like this the whole way. It does sadden me, you get to the point of thinking that there are no geniune people here and all they want is your money. I can see a day as India gets more expensive, that this culture of trying rip people off will stop tourists coming eventually. It would be such a shame as the country is beautiful and the sites to see are great.
Im looking forward to Nepal now I think it time for a change of country. :)
Catch you soon.
