All I can say is thank goodness we weren't in a rush this morning because I totally enjoyed my sleep in. We pretty much had this morning to ourselves, so while I opted out of the bike ride (me + bike + hills do not mix!) Kristy, Tasha and myself headed to Green Gables to check out the digs and also up to the remains of the Montgomary homestead. The boys feeling the need for something slightly more masculine hitched a light to the corn maze, with us all meeting up at Cavendish beach. That afternoon we headed for central PEI stopping a Kensignton for lunch (were the bus again needed jump starting) before crossing the Gulf of St Lawrence over the Confederation Bridge, the 12.9km long bridge linking PEI to New Brunswich (which would include the whole 20mins we sent in the province. It was pretty much a solid drive back to Halifax. While I think most of us managed to power through the day, we did head of to the Peel Pub of a quiet one before finally making it back to the hostel - I need sleep!

Akbar yes that is the 29 cutter i have plans to. have you ever read Larry Pardey's book on bilndiug their new boat Talisin? he is a very good craftsman boat builder, many good ideas they have on their boat, i will be bilndiug mine much the same way, as they say keep it simple and go now i have the same problem you have about finding the lead for the keel, at least finding it cheap may not be so easy. my boat will have 6350 pounds of lead ballast.you guys might like the interior layout of the Pardey's boat, they have gravity feed water, oil lamps, simple navigation and no engine. i am looking forward to bilndiug my boat much the same way, it will get me underway faster and less maintanance on extra stuff .good luck on the planking james
Christian Thanks Henrik,Yes the Bristol Channel cutter and this dsgein are both inspired by the same English vessel! (And yes the price IS a nightmare!)Yes Rune that build this one is Norwegian. The dsgein is actually a bit different, he build his strip planked instead of Carvel, and the beam is 9 inches more on the carvel version (Mine) but that's about it. We exchanged pictures and tricks about the building of the boat, as, he is the only one yet having completed the construction.Ste9phane
