When we were in Chaing Mai at the hotel. Varda asked where we were going. I told her Hua Hin,,
she said no... We Hin so I laughed and said We Hin( I'm sure that's not the spelling) she says
no no no We Hin. I say We Hin. She puts her hands over her ears and says " you no say that"
i laugh and and say " okay ,one more time". She shakes her head and says " you no say that ". "
it very bad word the way you say that! And she walks out the door shaking her head.
I I guess my tongue was wrapped around my eye tooth and I couldn't see what I was saying.
i figure that's about right, I never say bad words and here I try to show respect and say a Thai
word properly and my teacher walks out the door shaking her head., and telling me " you no
say that! ! Mark this up as failure Class 101 in Thai!
so now that we have left that town I am not to pronounce!
Roy said we needed to get to bus depot by 7:30 am so no breakfast and off we go. Walked about
5 or 6 blocks to the buss depot. And are told quite bluntly she does not sell tickets till 9 am. Bus
leaves at 10 am. Thankfully cafe just across the parking lot..
The bus is a very nice almost new bus. We paid 600 Bhts for the both of us. (Equals about $18 for both of us).
For about 160 mile run.
Beautiful scenery, coconut trees groves everywhere on both sides of the road . Trucks of
coconuts, piles like big hills of coconuts. Great news for us cause we love fresh coconut milk.
and they had also shredded a whole pile of them not sure what it's used for,
lush green growth of all kinds of plants and getting into some mountains ranges.
we get off the bus in .Chumphon and a taxi driver walks up to us and asks where we are going,
we tell him and agree on a price and he points to his truck.. We look at each other and grin----
alto we really wanted to laugh out loud! It reminded us of Panama.
In Panama you had to spread your feet to put them on the floor boards and you could see the
road moving between your feet..
Here at least he just had the hood up and the air filter off. Roy asked if the truck would make it..
He just smiles and says no problem.. Thailand in nicked named land of smiles!
we did make it ,a smile goes along way.
this is so cool we are the only ones in the hotel. This is the low season and that's one of the
reasons we chose this time to come. You gamble on the weather but have very few people to
deal with. So far the weather has been on our side. It's been pretty nice.
this is suppose to be the rainy season, but we have seen very little rain.
We went for a walk on the beach , got a wonderful picture of the storm coming in.
Then go to the cafe where once again we are the only ones here.
had a wonderful Thai meal, Roy had a plate of prawns and rice. I had chicken and rice, glad I
decided on one pepper whew it s warm but good! Both meals with several drinks under $6.00.
We had just sat down just as a huge rain storm hit. It was so relaxing listening to the music of
the rain on the roof while your sitting in a nice out door restaurant nice and dry eating a
wonderful meal. And watching the
ocean waves.
Went for another long walk on the white sand beaches and got back to the hotel. It's raining
again, our timing is perfect so far.

Kenn Rita, the potty-mouth! I don't believe I have met her!Was that boxes of De-Con on the restaurant tables?I like the repurposed sewing machine cabinets!Quite an adventure!
thriftydrifters The box on table is napkin holder with toothpicks on the bottom. Napkins in Thailand take some getting use to. They measure about 3"x4" and you can almost see thru them. When Roy finds paper towels he's in heaven!
Marilyn Morgan That is a hilarious story. I could see how that could happen. Your choice of food looks delicious. I can see there is no rest for such an adventurous couple. LoveThe blogs.
thriftydrifters Thanks enjoy sending them
