Time to travel. Overslept this morning but got to the embassy for the last time at 11am to pick up my passport. Waited an hour and a half for the ignorant b**** to make my passport which was supposed to be ready for me. Only to find she had made a mistake which she tries to blame on me. I had to shout for 15 minutes and then wait another hour to get what I asked for. Also outside the embassy someone I was talking to tried to steal the credit off my phone - it's fine to steal off a non-muslim.

Sitting on a nine hour bus to dahab now (left at 11pm) which I only just caught because Fathi decided to drink a bottle of brandy before we met and consequently didn't really care if I caught the bus or not. But The bus left late anyway because the driver was too busy jumping around and punching people. It's very cramped and I can't put my chair back because there is a gigantic man sitting behind me.

I will definitely miss Cairo and my friends there, it's like a second home now. I've learnt so much here (mainly how to look after myself), and I'm lucky to have been here at such a crucial and interesting moment in history. But I'm looking forward to relaxing by the red sea and scubadiving/kitesurfung/offroad motorbiking/rock climbing/mountain biking/quadbiking/horse riding.....

Also caught the "ninja" turtle sleeping on the street last night which confirmed our suspicions of him being a crazy homeless turtle.
