Our last night in Lauterbrunnen was another wet one. But we've now got it all sorted, so no major flood. It had stopped by late morning so we packed up for the hours drive to Kandersteg where the boys have been for the last week. We do hope they've survived all the rain.
On the way stopped for a lake side coffee by Lake Thun. It's the first time for days that we've felt warm from the sun; rather than the van heater or our physical excursions. Alison even got her sun glasses out while we relaxed watching a speed boat draw up at the restaurant for lunch (not that boats have lunch). Could have been Cannes.
Had picnic lunch over looking the lakes of Interlaken before driving to our hotel. The Chalet Hotel Adler has given us the chance to take real pleasure from the everyday things; a real bed, a bath etc.
Then got the cable car up the valley to see a lake (Oeschinesee). Took it all in before walking down to our Hotel all in lovely sunshine. More of those glorious Swiss vistas (hope you're not getting board of them). Now getting ready for dinner - a real treat.
Do we confess to the scouts that we bottled it and cancelled our camp site booking for some soft living for 2 nights? The place is swarming with scouty spy types so I can't believe we'll get away with it!
