Awoke early, drizzle (again) decided (don't faint) to go for a run (how long can you live in holiday mode?? ) Saw a new born calf sheltering tottery legged with its Mum and ?Aunt. Came back and R had kindly made holiday 'proper coffee' .....for elves! (10mls each!). But diluting the thimbleful with hot water made fab coffee. So invigorated we decided to get showered/dressed and head for a cafe for refreshment ams lunchtime had lurched upon us.
We had a lovely time wondering around the shops in Lauterbrunnen fantasising about what we would buy if we were rich!
The coffee shop we ended up in was run by an English chap, all very mountaineering/ base jumping/ para gliding, we had 2 cokes and I felt disappointed in myself when asked 'do you want glasses with that?' And I said yes please. (we were the oldest in the cafe by at least 10 years.)
Back to our cosy camper van and Richard mended Rory's bike with the help of a campsite employee (who had a better class of spanner than us) then a gentle bike ride in the rain up the valley to Trummelbach falls. Very dramatic/ thunderous waterfall through the cliffs, an extra extra damp experience followed by luxury muesli cookies in a fine tearoom and a bit of a debate about cubism which Richard can't see the point of.
A cosy evening in the van watching Avatar (boys choice of DVD even though they are not here .. How did we get to this?). Asleep to the sound of further persistent rain .....
