WHOA THERE 1990s!! I'M WATCHING A VHS RIGHT NOW!!
It's a French version of Mulan...And I can understand it!! That must mean that things are working!
Ok, so I'm going to make this quick cos I realize that what I've written in the past is a wee bit loooooooong!
Today we had French class (duhh) and watched the film "L'auberge Espagnole" which is pretty good cos it has alot of English in it too! We did some verb conjugations and I caught a glimpse of the finish line! Two more weeks and I can get my feet moving, but I think by that point it'll be bittersweet. All my close friends are leaving at the end of the week, along with the other students who live with "My House Mother". All the student's call their host family the same thing, and when we talk about them, we all kind of awkwardly call them something cos we either don't know the word in French, or it's just weird to call someone else who only makes you two meals a day and a little bit of conversation your "mom". But she's pretty nice!
Yesterday we went to the beach! YA, THERE'S A BEACH HERE!! When we got there, my friend Simon and I went into go change and came out with the same sort of confused "dude...why?" look on our faces as we realized we had the exact same bathing suit! Not cool, said all the other students. But not letting this spoil the adventure, we raced over nasty Euro-speedo-thonged wrinkle bags that are synonymous with ANY European beach, and hit the lake! We debated about swimming to France for dinner, as it was within eyesight, but thought we'd get more food for the Franc over on this side.
Today was fun cos our group of friends seems to be rapidly growing! More and more people are starting to hang out with us! We don't really speak French between us, but we do get alot of practice in with the local Lausannois, so it balances out!
Tomorrow is BBQ day, Friday is "goodbye BFFs"day, Saturday is Zurich with my cousin's friend Melissa, next weekend is Grindelwald and Interlaken (possibly with Simon) and then...who knows! By that time I'll by in my last week and it'll be flying by!
Before I head to bed, here is a brief list of some of the funnier English sayings I've run into...
-"I was so sucked off when my sister told me these things!!" - Tony, thinkin "sucked off" meant "pissed off". I quickly told him it didn't
"I- "Why can't I cross the road? That is so sucked off! Am I using that right? Sucked off?" - Tony...again
"Jesus Crisis!!" - My Japanese roommate
-"One, Two, TWO!!" MC trying to take a picture...thinking she was counting to 3. English is her native tounge...
...
That's about all I can remember now, but I'll add to the list as it develops! Miss you tons!
Tchuss!
ALSO!! I'm trying to upload pictures onto Facebook, but it's being lame and not letting me! If anyone's had this problem before, can you let me know if there's any way to fix that? CHEEEEERS!!
