It was Christmas Eve and we were up bright and early to make our journey across to Koh Samui which was our chosen island for our Christmas celebrations. With a bus or 2 an a boat trip we made our way clinging to the back of a pick up truck to Chaweng beach, despite a 1 week stay there the previous year you might as well have dropped Martin on Mars, nothing could be recognised! Against most peoples advise we decided against booking accommodation. This meant we had the laborious task of finding somewhere to stay. Eventually we found Wave Guest House. A quick trip to the hospital for a rabies shot for Emily and we were in the local Irish Bar for a few Christmas Eve drinks. The 8 pints of Guinness and 8 glasses of white wine induced a great night of conversation. Un-knowingly amassing a bill we couldn't pay for we made tracks sharpish with the promise of payment the following day (wink, wink).
Stockings (or more aptly woollen socks) lay on our bed, Santa had been in the night!! He's such a cleaver chap. Party outfits on complete with Santa hat, it was straight to the beach to meet Abi for Christmas lunch complete with brussels sprouts and delicious gravy!!! The all important Skype to the loved ones in merry Europe and Australia for christmas and it was on with the celebrations. Theres a moony picture floating about somewhere! We thoroughly enjoyed our first hot christmas and probably not our last!!!!!
