Day 20, 2 July 2014 - Gothenburg... Slightly easier day today. After yesterday's marathon of almost unintentional sightseeing, today was easier. Aside from anything else it was pouring with rain this morning, which meant a late start was sensible. I've found one of the most important things in a foreign city is not finding great places to eat... It's finding them again. When I had lunch yesterday I spied across the way a Thai buffet lunch for only 80 kronor (wow - thats say $12 - dirt cheap in this neck of the woods). So I took careful note of the location and headed back there today for a vegetable & meat fiesta, followed by a couple of coffees. Perfect. Not as perfect as Sydney or in fact, Thailand (the Swedish just don't seem to cook their veges at all) - but better than nothing. The shopping streets around the Kungstorget are like a maze... one street will be interesting then another will appear more so, so quite happily wended my way around until I reached today's target. The Tradgardsforeningen. Or the Garden Society of Gothenburg's rose gardens. Absolutely lush place for a wander about and apparently one of northern Europe's best gardens. It was established in 1842 on an area of marshland and they modelled their Palm House on London's Crystal Palace. All felt quite a lot like Kew Gardens. Headed home mid afternoon for a rest. Might have actually overdone it yesterday (what me?!) Saving the Natural History Museum and the Aquarium for tomorrow.

James Hardie Hi Bab, keeping up that momentum something has gotta give, you as it turns out, fresh veges nothing like it, nothing like a stroll through nice gardens.
