Day 167, 26 November 2014, Chateauponsac - Coffee & Cake Expedition. Successful! Headed out to try a new (ish) cafe in Chateauponsac. Little place called Cafe 1814 only opened in April this year - had planned just a coffee... but was coerced into trying a slab of coffee and whiskey cake... it just looked sooooo good. Of course by "coerced" I mean there was a selection of cakes sitting on nice cake plates. It's not like the cake had a gun held to my head! Good chats - good fun and probably lucky that this town is a solid distance from home base - otherwise I'd have to go back for Friday night fish & chips. Yes. It has been 2 months of cooking for myself. Yes I am looking forward to Paris and Dublin! And pubs and cafes and restaurants and people and sparkly lights and Christmas Markets! Will miss the lovely people I've met here - but it's time to move on - if one were inclined to gather moss... the climate here is most conducive. Pictured is a mirror-like lake on the drive home - sun was setting and there was not a breath of wind.
