After leaving the interent cafe last time, we headed back to the hostel to discover we still didn´t have running water. 30 mins later, after being told to wait 5 I went down to complain. An 8 year old girl came up to the room with me, and with such pride and a know-it-all-look said that the white tap in the bathroom turned the water on and off. Mez - unknowingly had been playing with the tap when trying to get hot water the night before, so because of that we didn´t have any - Thanks Mez.
We caught a bus to Puno about midday, having to get off and walk across the border, only once we had received our departure stamp, and then our arrival stamp for Peru. Our hostel here in Peru is much nicer than the one we left, with comfy beds and hot running water.
For 80 soles, we booked ourselves a 2 day boat trip on lake titicaca. Leaving early in the morning, after our free breakfast (score) we headed to the first of the islands. This is "the uros" which is a floating village, where we learnt how they floated and got to try the reeds which is typical to eat there.
There was also the awkward moment when Emma and I were invited into one of the homes and shown things that they had made, trying to sell us them. We weren´t having any of it, as they were expensive. We did contribute to the society by taking a trip on a boat (picture).
The second island was "Amantani" which is where we had lunch with our host family, and shown our room for the night. This was a comfortable room, with three seperate beds and enough blankets so that we couldn´t actually move once we had got into them. Before bed Emma and I hiked to the highest peak where there was a temple for pachamama. Which to be honest wasn´t very impressive but the views of the sunset were worth the effort.
On the way back down we tried our haggling skills and I bought a alpaco jumper and we met back up with Mez who had decided the climb was too much for her. Dressing up time came next, in traditional dress, for going to a fiesta with music from the islands.
Morning, after a lovely warm sleep on a reed bed, I was awoken by the sound of a donkey. We dragged ourselves out of bed to see the beautiful sunrise over lake titicaca. Pancakes for breakfast and to the last of the islands on our trip, "Taquile."
Disembarking the boat on one side of the island we hiked round the island to the main plaza. Here we met with the rest of the people from our boat and had a typical Peruvian lunch, which in my opinion was rather expensive, and 20 soles - 5 pound. We had also eaten traditional food in the home stay, soups, strange looking potatoes and lots of it.
3 hours later, and a nice wee kip on the boat, we arrived back in Puno to check back into our hostel and explore the area here, which we hadn´t done previously. The cathedral was top on the list, and has now been ticked off, as has the arco deústua.
Time to grab food and hit the sack for a long bus journey to Cusco. I´ll update you from there.

What would you recommend? I have found this website below with some amazing prices to United States of America... not sure where to go :( can you help me?
