G'day, welcome to our last blog from the land down under. When we left you last we were headed to our apartment in Brisbane which was amazing, 3 rooms massive tv and spectacular views of Brisbane from the 35th floor. The next day we went to watch the Brisbane International Tennis tournament, had a right good day watched 3 matches and saw andy murray training.
The next day we boarded the train to Sydney and 15 and half hours later we arrived, tired, sweaty and hating small children. We stayed the night in Sydney then next morning were supposed to get the 10am train to Canberra but were told that our booking had dissapeared and that the next available train was at 6 to get us there at 10.30. No probs spent the day wondering around Sydney and found an asian bakery that is simply brilliant. Half way through our train journey to Canberra someone decided to throw themselves in front of our train, which tho sad was very frustrating as it meant we go to Canberra at 3am! Where just to top off the day the hostel had messed up our booking and only had Fay booked to stay, after a heated debate we cancelled our second night stay there and went to bed in separate rooms for 6 hours of sleep. That morning we found a new place to stay and explored Canberra, what a strange place, not worth the hassle but hey another Capital city in the bag.
Escaping Canberra we headed to the Blue Mountains for two days, which turned into our favourite Aussie experience. We stayed in a lovely little hostel, trekked the beautiful scenic bushland, had a good night out and ate kangaroo and crocodile pizza. On our trek, we encountered a man of the bush, a bush guru if you will, who taught us about eucalyptus, tea tree oil, lyre birds and google flight simulator. Our second friend was a Polish pensioner who gave us a lift back to Katoomba which he said means falling water in aborigini, which was a nice surprise since he could have murdered us, don't worry mums we don't normally jump in strangers cars!
Now back in Sydney till Wednesday when we fly to Singapore! Our gateway to the Asian section of our tour, can't wait.
