We did actually require some essentials so after a lie in headed down to the breakfast restaurant. On offer was a packed buffet of unrivalled international diversity. I just couldn't face a chicken madras for breakfast so I opted for fruit and toast.
Braving the soaring heat and humidity we walked around the park to the KLCC under the towers. In a car park Annelise spotted something huge slithering down a lamp post and wouldn't go any further. Hoping for a notable urban large reptile sighting I went to investigate. A blood curdling scream stopped me in my tracks and I retreated. It was a squirrel.
About 100m away we were really feeling the strain of the climate when the free hotel transfer golf buggy train whooshed past. We hopped on for the last bit, the apparent wind evaporating the rivers of sweat pouring down us. The driver pointed out the air conditioned tunnel and passage and tunnel which interconnected the KLCC and the hotel. Cheers!
Once in the sanctuary of the mall, we did have a few life and death travelling survival essentials to take care stock up on. Annelise started in the MAC shop. I winced at the price of everything. Certainly no recession busting discounts here.
Lunch was authentic sushi: I opted for a top of the range bento which was more like a soup-fondue experience. A-lo ordered a selection of prawn, soft shelled crab and squid. I did remark that normally she screams and runs away from6 and 8 legged creatures, but dip 'em in hot batter and no such problem,
Annelise had adopted a look today which made her blend in well with the locals. So well that two glamourous young girls in the restaurant asked her for the bill. Snigger Snigger.
Back at the hotel dinner was booked in the sky pool bar on the 33rd floor. We were shown to our booth next to the pool with a stunning view if the KL skyline. A Martini later this was a far cry from Koh Muk!
