Martin & Sarah's Big Adventure
We have now arrive in Italy, well to be more specific Venice.
After having endured the worst thunderstorm ever, which lasted the entire nite, and having stayed in a room that resembled a wooden box, we were of course more than ready to explore Venice.
Apparantly the best way to explore venice is to get lost in it, which is precisely what we did two minutes after stepping of the bus. Venice was everything I imagined and more, it has beautiful old windy streets, with unusual shops (most full of these really strange looking masks) and lots and lots of bridges.
The Grand Canal was really interesting to see, and was strange to think that this is like our M25 to them, you could also see that the city was indeed sinking. The canals we also full of gondalas. some of them singing!
We visited a beautiful church (I'm really sorry but I can't remember the name of it, but if you have ever been there its by the square with all of the pigeons). The church inside was absolutely beautiful, with gold mosacics everwhere.
We also visted loads of museums and walked around for the entire day, we also saw the Bridge of Sighs which is were prisons entered into the prison and going across the bridge was their last taste of freedom.
Tomorrow we are heading to Rome to have tea with the Pope.
