Day 25: Yulara to Kings Canyon

A rather easy day today. We got up at about 7am, had breakfast and got ourselves ready to check out and relocate to Kings Canyon Resort.
We departed Yulara at about 9.30am and commenced the 3 hour drive for Kings Canyon.
Once checked in we decided to have an easy afternoon. I had hoped to catch up on some washing but the limited machines proved to be in need of repair. I did one load but it came out almost as dirty as it went in.
The resort is very busy but lacks quite a bit in the cleanliness and maintenance department. Upon arrival, reception was very impressive with friendly staff but the amenities have disappointed thus far. We had showers at about 5pm. The showers are cleaned but there is an obvious build up of dirt and scum. It was a beautiful day today with a temperature of about 24degrees but if we had showers later we would have froze as they are fully exposed.
The kids enjoyed having nothing specific to do and filled in their time riding bikes and playing on the playground. Micaela and Ethan even braved a swim but it proved too cold to tolerate.
Brandon had a little mishap today, he fell off the flying fox and landed on his back. He hasn't been himself all day and we hope he isn't coming down with something.
We treated ourselves to dinner at the on-site restaurant tonight.
Tomorrow, provided Brandon is ok, we are planning a few walks through the national park.
