Day 4: Temora to Moama
Today we started the day with Micaela opening her birthday presents. Yes, today is Micaela's birthday and I can't believe that my baby girl is 11! Thank you to everyone that either rang or sent her a message to wish her a happy day, she was thrilled with each and every wish.
This morning was a very chilly one, we were up early and ready to depart by 8.30am. After saying our goodbyes to Alan, Denise and Merle (Alan's mum), we were on the road by 9am. The car temperature gauge informed us it was a cool 5degrees, no wonder we felt so cold!
We were informed by Peter and Johanna East (Darren's cousin) about the "wave" that caravanner's give to each other and today Darren had to perfect his wave. We passed so many caravans going in the opposite direction that we had to do double and even triple waves which annoyed Darren no end. He preferred to count the number of road kill we passed. Hmm, each to their own.(it was 6 by the way).
We stopped in Deniliquin for lunch and let's just say we are in no rush to return.
Driving along today, Darren and I commented as to how flat this area of the country is. We asked the kids "who can see a mountain?". They were a bit surprised not to see one, but that interest lasted a whole 3 seconds.
We arrived at "A shady river holiday park" in Moama at about 3pm, and first duty was washing. Amazing how quickly it piles up.
Darren got the kids bikes off the bike rack and we went for a sticky beak around the park. Dazza wanted to compare their sites and various other aspects for ideas to implement back at East's Beach.
We celebrated Micaela's birthday with a good old mud cake tonight. The kids are now in bed, we are hoping to be on the road early tomorrow so that we arrive in Ballarat with time to do something touristy!
