Days 92 & 93: Glen Innes to Tamworth
Not a great deal to tell in this blog.
Before departing Glen Innes we picked up our new tyre and had them put it on the car for us.
The weather was a little drizzly and cool so it was a good day for driving. We tried to remember if this is the first time we had to travel in the rain on this trip, we think it is but can't remember for sure.
We are staying at Paradise Tourist Park in Tamworth. The owner was down in Melbourne watching the AFL grand final but left a message with his managers to pass on his regards and for them to look after us, which we sincerely appreciated.
The park was quite busy on arrival but quite a few left this morning, a few more arrived this afternoon.
Today was spent at a leisurely pace. Our energy levels seem to be a little low so we all enjoyed a sleep in this morning.
Once up and dressed we drove literally next door to the visitors centre to find something to do. Whilst there we browsed through the History of Country Music museum before driving to see the Big Golden Guitar. There we walked through the country music stars wax museum.
Next stop was Oxley lookout which gave us a fantastic view of the Tamworth landscape, before returning to the van for a bit of a clean and watching of the second grand final for the weekend.
Darren watched the son of long time family friends, Luke Breust, play for Hawthorn in the AFL grand final yesterday. Unfortunately, after a close game, The Swans were the victors but it was still great to watch Luke play.
Tomorrow we inch closer to home with a stop over in Dubbo for a few days.
