G'day! (See, can you tell I'm working on that Kiwi accent?)
After a quick bus ride into the city centre yesterday morning, Steph & I decided to hit the road like proper back-packers and walk back to the house: after a good 1.5 hours, a long uphill slog and the help of two kind people, we made it eventually just before dark!
Am pretty chuffed as I managed to buy a cheapie phone (my current phone is so ancient that the shop assistant in the UK actually laughed when we asked if we can unlock it to use abroad) that I can also use back in the UK - not bad! Te Papa was, I quote, "awesome!" (this seems to be the favoured Kiwi adjective for everything!).
Today we're walking DOWNhill into town (saving every penny, can you see?) to get some supplies, have a nosy round the Botanical Garden & trek up Mount Victoria (I admit, not as daunting as it sounds) with Gill.
