Hello!

Well, Brianna said today is day 11 of the trip I think that is at least pretty close.Today is a drive day, we had to get across Wyoming and into South Dakota.The good news is that we made it to South Dakota!!! We left Cody this morning after a continental breakfast at the historic area of the hotel complex.Nothing fancy, but did the trick.

Most of the day was driving, but I have to say that Wyoming has some fabulous views and a 9900 foot mountain we had to climb, and come back down.The deep red colors come out in the mountains, and I have just never seen such beauty as I have seen here in the real West.

Our GPS totally put us out when we entered Hill City.It literally took us to a dead end dirt road, which was suppose to be our campsite.We got frustrated, long day driving, so we called the KOA campground for directions.Since we enjoyed our little cottage from last night so much, I got another cottage here in Hill City.It is five minutes down the road from Mt. Rushmore and we're comfortable and all have beds.This setup has three bunks and one queen, so we're all in one room, but it has electricity, a fire pit, a swing on the front.Its perfect!Once we saw it and realized how comfortable it was, we got it for another night.It will be perfect.

Once we unloaded, we jumped back in the car to go see Mt. Rushmore.The funniest thing ever was when Shea said "Daddy, I see a face!!!".We thought she made it up, but there is an overlook where you can see George Washington from the road and we were all looking in the wrong place for it except Shea.Once we headed home we saw it and laughed all over.The monument is awesome, and we had dinner in the famous Buffalo Room cafeteria.This has pictures of all the presidents, and a view of the monument.We did the typical walk around, souvenir shopping and went back to camp.Everyone is pretty tired. We were able to get Gavin to sleep and the girls and Mom and Dad did Smores on the firepit and lights out after that.Great day!Looking forward to tomorrow.
