Our Travels
Friday 13th February 2004
We decided to explore Singapore today and did a 2.5km 'Colonial Walk'. We wandered around and saw the City Hall, Supreme Court, Parliament Square, Clifford Pier, the Cenotaph it was a lovely walk and really made you appreciate Singapore - its lovely!!! We both fell in love with, its so clean, even the train (metro) system and subways were imaculate! Although thats probably because you can get fined for absolutely everything and we had just come from Thailand and Malaysia....In the evening we went down to the boat quay and had our first non rice/noodle meal in 4 weeks - pleasure! Then we went to the Art Gallery which was brilliant and FREE!

Had a lay in and decided to go for 'hi-tea' at Raffles - very sophisticated! Then in a bid to stay well clear of Valentines Day celebrations (they are mad about it over here it lasts 3 days!!!!) we deciuded to go to the Night Safari, well it appears to be a place for people to take their loved ones on Valentines and people hired trams and they had heart balloons/cupids/champayne and the women were dressed in full on evening wear - makes you sick - very strange! Great time though, lots of cool animals and trails to follow.
Sunday 15th February 2004
Went for a wonder around the Botanical Gardens and got the car up to Mount Faber, both lovely views and sight of Singapore. Passed through Orchard Road - mad shopping and we started to wish we had unlimited credit cards.......In the evening we decided to celebrate our last night in Singapore with Singapore Slings (no idea whats in them but bloody lovely!) in Raffles, there was a live band who were reallly good and we straightened our hair and wore makeup - we felt human again!!!!
