As we are on our last long bus ride of our tour (headed for Marekesh) I feel like I should write some of the themes. It was much colder than the normal temperatures for Morocco. Days were probably below 10. The hotels had insufficient heating to keep up. We were very cold in our tent in the Sahara and most other nights we were just very cold getting into bed but once the blankets were warmed up we were cozy. So today we left the toudra gorge at a reasonable hour and started driving towards Ait-Ben-Haddou. We stopped to check out several kashbas, Which are morrocan fortified houses. Most of the building were made of mud and straw bricks. We think that our hotels last night and tonight are made of the bricks as well. So for the rest of the day we drove to a town that is still inhabited but consists of multi story buildings made of mud bricks. I went to the museum which was a deal at 20 dirham. Trapper stayed in the warm restaurant while they made us supper for 45 minutes. We had camel tangine which was good like beef but a little richer. Unfortunately we both are not feeling great and we both ate off the same dish so I’m blaming the camel tangine. We then drove to a town ...

So we are back in the bus, so I thought I’d do another post. We did a sunrise camel ride this morning. I loved it but I hated it. I constantly felt like I would fall off so I was extremely tense and terrified of falling from the height. That being said it was a great experience. I don’t want to do it again though. The sunrise was beautiful and the desert looked so huge from the top of the sand dunes. We actually saw Algeria from the top of the dune. On our ...
