Hey everyone
Today was our last day in Hervey Bay.
We got up and checked out, but as our bus didn't leave until the late afternoon we had to occupy ourselves for the whole day. After sitting around wondering what to do, and a trip to Woolworths later, we decided to have a walk around the beach and marina nearby. Christina had fun picking up the shells from the shore and found some coral too.
We headed back to the hostel, sat in the hammocks and read our books. We had a game of table tennis and then decided to head to Woolworths to get some food for the bus journey. However, in the 30 mins to walk there and back Christina got very badly burnt and afterwards her arms glowed red and were very painful.
Eventually it was time to get the shuttle bus to the bus stop and board the coach which we would spend 13 hours on. The journey didn't start well, as the bus was rocking and swaying badly, leaving Christina feeling really car sick. It was a mixture of the bus driver driving like a manic, refusing to slow down around the bends, and the bus being a specially designed coach, bigger than the previous buses we'd been on, but which seemed to mean that it rocked more. After some motion sickness tablets and a change of driver we settled in to our journey and started to catch up on our blogs.
We soon grew tired and started to fall asleep, waking up frequently and being very uncomfortable. We had a break at a service station at 2.30am which was in the middle of no where, but the lack of light pollution meant the stars looked so bright. We boarded the coach once more and prepared ourselves for the second half of a very restless nights sleep. Xxx
