Hey everyone
Today we went to Waitomo.
Our first stop was at a place called the Agrodome. Here we had some time to wander around and learn all about New Zealand's sheepshearing history. It turns out that they're really good at it. We had a look around the shops which sold cuddly toy sheep of all shapes and sizes, all sorts of woollen clothes and every clothing accessory you can think of made from possum fur.
We then watched a little sheepdog show before heading down the road to 'Agroventures'. Here, a couple of the people on the bus jumped off to go do activities like jet boating around a little circuit, whilst the rest of us went a little further down the road so a few people could go zorbing. Zorbing is when you get inside effectively a big hamster ball and roll down a hill - a little water is thrown in the ball for fun. Once everyone had finished their activities we were back on the coach and heading straight to Waitomo. We used the rest of the journey to plan the rest of our Kiwi adventure and catch up on sleep, as we often would on the coach.
We would only spend one night in Waitomo, as we were just stopping there to see the popular glowworm caves. Also, Waitomo is really small, consisting of just one pub and an information centre. Once we arrived, we went for a wander around the tiny village, but there really wasn't anything to see or do. The evening was equally uneventful, and we went to bed looking forward to our tour of the glow worm caves the following morning. Xxx
