Going to bed at 3:00 am does not seem like such a good idea when you are waking up at 8 am for class. As I am leaving, I encounter Karina just walking in.. Hmm still wondering about that one! Class was the usual. I enjoy our mid-class coffee break and interruptions regarding our upcoming trip to Florence from Luca who is the best IES worker in the world!
I had read about a supposedly delicious crepe place in a travel book, and realized it was only an eight minute walk from IES. So obviously, I dragged a crew to eat there with me after class! Alyssa, Ana, Natalie, Omri, Nick, Austin, Christian, Eric, and I ventured to La Creperie, a delicious treat! Featuring both "sweet" and "salty" crepes discounted for their lunch special, we quickly had Natalie translate the whole menu for us (she has been a savior!). I decided on the Vegetale crepe with tomatoes, zucchini, arugula, and cheese. I took the arugula off, and it was great! I can't wait to venture back to try a dessert crepe. Afterwards, Alyssa and I headed to the Colonne area to do some shopping. We found the cutest cupcake store, boutiques, and art store, and will definitely be returning. I bought a fabulous pair of hipster flowy pants at the sketchiest store run by a Chinese staff... So random. The pants had two price tags, so Alyssa and I thought it would be a good idea to hide the more expensive price tag which worked.. I got the pants for nine Euros! Returning home by the 94 bus (finally figured out where to get off), I took a nice and very needed nap. After such a long week and a trip to Tuscany tomorrow, my body was in desperate need of some downtime. I cooked my go to pasta with pesto and an apple for dinner, hanging out while catching up with mom, dad, and Christian via Viber, and packing up for the weekend trip. Mom and I officially planned out our trip for when ahe comes, consisting of Lake Como, Milan, Sorrento, Capri, Pompeii, the Almalfi Coast, and Rome. So beyond excited! I also did my first load of laundry, which was an experience. A load takes two hours and the clothes come out very wrinkled and have to air dry on a rack, but at least my clothes are clean!
Discovery of the day: Pandora and Netflix are not available in Italy yet!! Bummer but not like I'd use them much over here anyways. Off to bed, ciao!
