We're heading for Narooma taking a detour on the way to Potato Point so named by the Brice family who grew potatoes, then rowed them out to ships anchored offshore for transportation to Sydney.
We stroll along another beautiful beach with turquoise water sheltered by jagged rocks and bush within the Eurobodalla National Park.
We continue on through the national park finally arriving at Narooma situated at the edge of the Wongona inlet. We set up camp, perched upon a hill overlooking the small sweeping beach before taking a scenic walk.
We spend the next few days exploring this beautiful part of the coast where we:
Took daily walks along Narooma Surf Beach that looks out to Montague Island and making sure not to step on the many blue bottle jellyfish washed up along the shore. Purchasing fresh fish from the local fish van located on the edge of town..
Take a drive to the Quarterdeck Marina for dinner at the quirky café looking out over the shimmering water of Wongona inlet, watching a solitary pelican swimming along the pier.
Stroll along the edge of the inlet taking in the amazing view across the estuary with its turquoise water and extensive seagrass beds.
Wander along the Mill Bay boardwalk at the edge of the estuary with its turquoise and emerald waters, occasionally stopping to watch the stingrays swim by or bury themselves within the sand. We came across some children on a mission to catch an octopus that was reluctant to come out from under the rock it was hiding under. It was fun watching & listening to the different ideas on how they would achieve this.

Kaye Nutman Who's in the photo with you Anne? Sounds like a lovely place to go (maybe when it's not blue-bottle jellyfish season!)
Anne Lindsay He's the owner of the Quarterdeck. We got chatting and he was a telling jokes and insisted that we all had a photo. Yes, we can definitely recommend a stop at Narooma.
