As promised Neal took us to an amazing place for lunch. The advert said free flowing Mumm Champagne. This was a lie. It was Moet.
Various food stations were set up with a OTT choice of food groups, seafood, Indian, meats, Chinese, etc etc and of course the desert section.
For 3 hours we gorged! Lobster, fois gras, oysters, Peking duck, and a hamburger the size of my head. Neals friend kept the wine staff on their toes and technically we never put an empty glass on the table we must have managed almost 5 bottles of Moet between us.
To keep things moving the cocktail nurses (yes…there were cocktail nurses) made their appearance at about 2 pm and proceeded to 'inject' cocktail shooters into the mouths of patrons.
We have set up a photo album for lunch photos. It was an amazing experience and 20 hours later I am still full.
After the 5 of us squeezed into an elevator built for 12 Neal took us for a walk to The Bund. Spectacular views of the river and skyscrapers. However after Tony saw the same barge go past no less than 7 times we came to the conclusion that it was a giant computer generated video on a 6 minute loop.
After a walk that seemed to last forever we finally gave in and got a cab back to the apartment. It was about $4 and Sally paid for the whole lot! However we have not heard the end of it so are still paying.
Later Neal took us out to dinner. Debra wisely declined and slept while it took us for what seemed like a 1 hour walk to a 'nearby' restaurant. This boy is used to walking! Dinner was great but after lunch we were sort of going through the motions. Tony spent most of the time complaining that he was still full from lunch but did manage a mouthful or two.
We all slept well but it was a huge day!
