BLUE MOUNTAINS
Departing the racing town of Bathurst, then through Lithgow,
And onto to the Blue Mountains we did go.
Staying at Hartley at a little run down park called Venice,
The owner was ok and did not live up to his reputation of being a menace.
Only a few weeks before they had 8 inches of snow,
If this was to happen to us the bus would sure need a tow.
Our first impression of the Blue Mountains was amazing
The shear cliffs, beauty and magnitude we all could not stop a gazing.
Feeling exited we planned for our next few adventurous days,
With so much to choose from it felt like a maze.
Katoomba streets are like tunnels covered with trees,
We drove through them like a breeze.
We visited the famouse rock formation the "Three Sisters",
Deciding to walk to them, luckily did not get any blisters.
While walking there the bush was stirred,
Fortunate for us we saw our first ever Liare bird.
Then a little further a bowerbirds nest all blue,
With all its posesions it looked like a stew. (lids, spoons, straws, pegs, wrist bands)
Onto the Grand Canyon 5.4km walk, we did get wet,
Tim's phone did drown he was very upset.
An established path around the cave lip,
Into a steep canyon we were not wanting to slip.
The mist from the rain and the beautiful flora,
We did love being a wet explora.
Jenolan Caves
The oldest caves known in the world at 430 million years old,
they keep a constant temperature all year round of 15deg cold.
The children were asked to be the leader of the pack,
They lead us through the 910 step cave track.
The crystal rocks how they did glitter,
This cave experience is far from bitter.
If we were in here in the 1800's we could have done it by candle light
Or even taken a flying fox flight!
150 years for 1cm growth it takes a stalicktight,
So they had better hang on tight.
Same for the upward growth of the stalickmight
The miniature crystal stalickmights and stalicktights in the fairy house,
were perfect size for a mouse.
Driving to Kanangra Walls Lookout saying how much our life we do admire, when the ute got an electrical fire.
With smoke wafting, we new it wasn't a joke
The engine went dead and the kids went off their head.
Back to Jenolan caves for our self guided tour
Then home on a mountainous climb out, the ute did endure.
Scenic World
The highest scenic cable car in Aus at 270m high
We felt like we could fly.
Then we were like a shooting star in the train car.
We then did a walk down under until it bagan to thunder.
The Blue Moutians we love for certain.
