Thoroughly enjoyed a decent sleep in this morning. Plenty of partying nearby during the night plus some significant rain - but ultimately slept well. A leisurely start for brekkie and packing up before we drove around the beach area of Cascais - firstly the rocky beach of Guincho - Boca do Inferno - then we parked to wander the town. A slower start for Raym and I today - a sleep in, washing, sorting our next stop etc. Roh took off into Lisbon earlier but was late morning for us for the walk down to Cascais for coffee then caught the train the 40 minute trip into Cais do Sodre - the main railway station of Lisbon where the Metro begins. Wow! What a massive day! Almost midnight and we’re just back from dinner, to our lovely apartment in Cascais, outside of Lisbon. Had a easy start this morning in Porto, cooking brekkie, packing up and waiting for our host, Jose, to arrive to check us out. He was particularly chuffed that he and I share the same date and year of birth...! He also gave us a recommendation for stopping enroute to Cascais/Lisbon which we immediately followed. Wow! What an awesome day! Mattered not that it was overcast and cool to start ...we weren’t out and about till almost 10am after sleep in, more washing and brekkie. Raym and I decided to make first stop Livraria Lello. I don’t mind admitting that I was unaware of the significance of this establishment but after a little research it was soon a definite must. Deemed “the most beautiful bookshop in the world” ...plus it’s significant link to Harry Potter ...
