Thoroughly enjoyed a decent sleep in this morning. Plenty of partying nearby during the night plus some significant rain - but ultimately slept well.
After some brekkie Raym and I went for a stroll and coffee - we’ll probably perfect our coffee choices by the time we leave!
Once back we left for the 30km drive out to Sagres- the most south western point of Europe. An interesting drive - dual carriageway at low speed most of the way as reasonable amount of traffic. Undulating but quite barren landscape dotted with small farming community towns.
Once at Sagres we continued on to Beliche beach. Initially just appeared as a rocky cliff edge but after parking and exploring further we realised this was an incredibly picturesque spot. So worth the crazy number of steep stairs down, past a bar and cafe perched on the rocks. A magical location. Roh was in his element - and of course braved the ridiculously cold water. We just enjoyed taking it all in and walking the beach and around the mossy rocks. Interesting collection of beach goers - from the palest of pale skin colour, some lobster coloured from excess exposure... and others incredibly bronzed. Not to mention the varying degrees of clothing cover - from nothing at all to fully clothed liked us. Overall Beliche was a certain highlight!
We drove around the fort at Sagres - awesome views along the jagged coast.
Then stopped at the end of the town at the top of Mareta Beach. Roh walked down for a swim while we settled in at Chiringuito .... a little beach bar and cafe overlooking the beach. Awesome view and delicious lunch - burger for
Raym, salad and Bratatas bravas... wedges with spicy sauce. We checked the beach out after lunch before we took off on our return trip back to Lagos - in time for yet another soccer match (renaming this trip the World Cup tour..!)
Roh watched it on his laptop, Raymo went to the bar at the end of our street while I had a little retail therapy. We all met up later for Sangria then the boys continued to find a location for the next much more important match - Portugal vs Uruguay! Already plenty of locals and tourists out and about sporting Portuguese scarves and paraphernalia. I went to freshen up then met them at a Japanese restaurant (of course!) with a big screen set up and their new friends- a lovely couple from Ireland. Food and company were great - and needless to
say our waiter from Uruguay (of course?!) was more than happy with the match result!
Boys headed back to the apartment while I wandered the shops a bit more. Such a busy vibrant atmosphere in the evening. So many young people, including heaps of Aussies - big party atmosphere. No wonder that Jared and Adam loved it here! Sadly it’s our last night in Portugal! Hope we get to return some day!

Megan Goode Your “World Cup Tour” sounds fantastic lol. Banna is heading there next week. Love the descriptions of the beach goers.
