It was a very Merry Christmas for the 5 of us down in the island of Koh Lanta! We booked 5 nights on our first island, and although the weather was a bit cloudier and rainier than anticipated, we got a great day when it counted - December 25th.
We celebrated on Christmas Day by taking a boat trip to visit the nearby islands of Koh Mook, Koh Ngai, Koh Cheuk, and Koh Kradan. Koh Mook is the site of the "emerald cave" - where we swam through dark, shiny emerald hued waters that opened up to a tiny secluded beach. No photos of this due to our lack of waterproof technology - it was a site just for the memory! We also had two snorkelling stops where we spied needlefish, breathing coral, clams, sea cucumbers, and sea urchins - new species for us!
The Andaman Sea experience is so far meeting and succeeding expectations of what the Thai island paradise is - clear, calm, turquoise waters that are also so warm! It feels like you could spend the whole day floating in them. We are so lucky to be with family right now, and discovering this gem of a spot. Hope everyone has had a safe and happy Christmas with their loved ones!
