...at 6500 ft. in the hill station of Mussoorie - our final destination in India, after an exhilarating 6 weeks in this country. We are in the foothills of the Himalayas! It is a bit of a taste and a tease as the peaks are a bit hazy from here, and we know that the great range is waiting for us on a (hopefully) future trip to Nepal.
And we had the opportunity to bust out our jackets from the bottom of our backpacks! We hit lows of about 3C here, and the hotel does not have any heating, so there were lots of cold hands and teas to be had. It was definitely a relief to breathe the crisp air - perhaps a sensation we have not had since being in the hills of Sapa in November? It was the perfect tranquil place to bring to a close the adventure and chaos of this journey. We started off our time in India feeling that we sort of needed to plow through it because we probably weren't coming back. Now having gained some experience and perspective, we can envision more time spent in the smaller cities and towns, and would love to return to the mountains of Himachal Pradesh - the state just north of us.
But that thinking is not for now! One experience at a time. And the next one is another big one - we are off to Australia tomorrow. A quick flight to Delhi followed by the journey to Melbourne via Colombo - it's going to be a long couple of days!
