We knew we couldn't stay away from the beach for long, and so again we are back on the sand and in the sea (a new one - the Arabian Sea!) Here in Goa we are blessed with golden coloured sand, and a bigger surf - reminds us of North Carolina beach conditions in August! Super warm water. Every day has a cloudless blue sky and scorching heat; we actually usually stay inside in the middle of the day because it is so hot, even in the shade. Think of it as our Indian siesta time.
Arambol is best described as a hippie beach, and therefore the scene is maybe 20% Clare (on account of the yoga and vegetarian food), and 1% Troy (on account of it actually being a beautiful beach), so our stay is short. Which doesn't mean that we have not enjoyed wandering the town and watching the characters here. And in fact we have enjoyed some of our best food in India so far, with Troy claiming that he had the "best tandoori of my life", which is quite the accomplishment considering all the Indian food we have had over the years. Our place is also wonderfully centrally located right on the beach, which means we can hear the soothing waves as we are drifting off to sleep, but also means that said "drifting off to sleep" is rather elusive as the music and parties last well into the night. Ah, it is a trade-off!
