Sooo after a lovely dinner...the 3 hit the bed early as there was going to be a big climb the next day according to Natalie’s book. It was Sunday, and nothing open for a considerable distance, but we managed to find coffee and ham/cheese sangies...(a staple by now..lol) before our ascent over the pass that day. Some of it was along the hwy, but then up we went through some lovely scenery and meadows! Back down on the other side was a lovely town called Biaona ...

Once off the ferry into Spain...the feeling was at first somewhat different. The well manicured houses and gardens of Portugal were not quite so evident here. There were also quite a few more abandoned houses, a common occurrence in this part of the world apparently due to lack of estate planning...death, and then family squabbles over who gets what! They have started double taxing houses that are left rotting and empty for more than 2 years, but it does not see...

After our amazing last night at the hostel...Eva and I decided to walk a separate route to the next town. Metya was already there....securing me a bottom bunk...YES! It was great walking with others..but also lovely to have some alone time too, walking through lovely scenery and forests along the way and many houses with lovely flowers. Ancora was a strange little town...and felt somehow dark as it was a seaside summer town and they many had not arrived yet an...

Soooo....as I said...I had a blister healing, plus walked 27klms in one day....so was I ever excited to hear about this Amazing Hostel not many kilometres north of where we were for 2 days In Vienna de Castello. Eva, Metya and I decided to book in there for a night and see what all the stir was about...we also picked up Darby from Tennessee that morning and the 3 ladies had coffee (and one of those delicious little custard tarts ) and began walking together. Me...

Catching up here...as at times Wifi is spotty and hard to load pictures... Sooo after my friend Janine and I parted ways...i walked alone for a few hours and really reflected at the beauty of this country and it people. I love it here❣️❣️ Lo and behold..not long later I met Carmen...a really cool lady from again...GERMANY...there are a lotta GERMANS on the Camino❣️ Carman and I had a great day walking and stayed the night at the Obitur Campground 11...
