6am, Stacey wakes Brett as the train is due to arrive in Bangalore soon.
Brett sits up and realises things are not OK. After a trip to the Indian squat toilet on a rocking train, it is clear that he has been issued with his first case of Delhi Belly.
With the connecting train not until 9.40pm, it was destined to be a long day for at least one of us. Much of the morning was spent in the beautiful Botanical Gardens, with Stacey and Jen Catching up on 5 years of gossip while Beth sunbathed and Brett wished he had a bed and a bed pan. Jen and Stace realised they still had a lot in common apart from the fact that Jen has a PhD and swam the English Channel. What made Stacey feel better was hearing that the first time she used her "Dr." status was to book the flight, and when a passenger fell ill and a hostess came calling, Jen felt a little sheepish explaining that she wasn't that type of doctor.
By lunchtime, Brett had nothing left inside but was feeling a bit better and with a serious sugar craving they set off in search of ice lollies. 2 of those later, we found ourselves in the local market with seemingly endless spices, fruits and flowers. (The pictures are pretty cool if we do say so ourselves.)
Finally made it through the day and after a trip to the train station doctor, Brett crashed out for the count almost before the train had set off for Kerala. The next morning was almost as if nothing had happened.

Barry & Kay Davies You have every reason to be proud of these shots. Yet more material for the lecture tour. Sorry about Brett's indisposition but I think he's done very well to have avoided it for so long. Thanks for the update and the wonderful photos. Love from B & K
Kirstie Poor Brett!! Love the pictures xx
Katie Bowden Hi guys! Your photos are just amazing. The colours are incredible and make dreary Bristol look pretty grey in comparison! Stace - I'm so pleased you've found marmite - I was worrying for your health :o) It looks as though you're having an amazing time. We miss you SO much! Not a huge amount of news from sunny Britain - no snow yet but watch this space. Keep safe and well and can't wait to hear more about your adventures xxe
