Arrived at the lovely Shangri-la today. Boy were they happy to see me - i was greeted with the welcome gong, hello xylophone music, cold towel, peach iced tea and smiles!
Found my lovely room and headed straight out for a wander. After dipping my feet in the warm water I felt I deserved a lie down, for which a nearby sunlounger kindly obliged. I could pretend that I actually got up off my deriere to join the beach volleyball, but that would be fibbing!
Feeling in proper holiday mode I had a pre-dinner aperitif whilst listening to the band in the bar who surprised me with a James Blunt number!
Enjoyed a delicious dinner, during which I was presented with an 'Expatriates Lifestyle' magazine in case I got board of my inner monologue!
Now sat back in the bar lounge with a yummy mocktail. It seems the chefs here are multi-talented and are now warming up for their set. They are actually pretty good.
