There are two main routes to Yosemite, the longer safer southern route or the shorter route through DeathValley and over the Tioga pass which had only just opened on May 2nd, this was the route I had chosen.......but at the last minute I changed my decision and went the long route.
Leaving vegas the sat nav informs me my next turn is 253 miles.... Turn 2 comes after a further 125 miles and my final turn a merely another 108 miles.......driving in the US is awesome.
Arrived at Oakhurst around 17:00, Macca D's for tea and then bed ready for Yosemite tomorrow.
P.s found out that Tioga pass was closed today due to a snow storm.. Dodged a bullet there, the alternative would have taken us around 12hrs at least.
