Well it is a start of a new year and Ken and I are trying to look forward and be positive after what we have been through. We are still very sad and angry regarding losing Bailey and Bella but we have decided that we are not going to let this evil man spoil our dreams. At first i just wanted to come home be with my family and friends i wanted to blame everyone here for the awful thing that had happened. i wanted to hate them all but to be truthful everyone here is as disgusted by what happened as us and they have all been very kind and supportive. So we must try and put it behind us and move on. We have buried Bailey and Bella together at the farm so now they are at peace.
We have had a lot of snow here it is about 4ft outside but unlike England the snow ploughs were out straight away and we have been able to get out and about at least round the village and to the next town. Because of the weather the Bulgarian people dont seem to like to work in the cold so the work on the house has come to a standstill but Ken is up there most days doing some work, and he has now employed me as a labourer. So the tools i received from Tania and Clare will now come in handy.
The Bulgarian have some strange habits for instance they will not drink a cold beer in the winter they have to have it warmed up in a bowl of water on a fire first. Imagine giving someone in England warm lager there would be a riot. We offered one of the Bulgarians some ice cream and they were horrified they said if they eat ice cream this time of year they would end up in hospital with pneumonia! They also have a habit of nodding when they mean no and shaking their heads when they mean yes which is all very confusing.
I am going to start my driving lessons as soon as the snow clears so i am looking forward to that. Also i am going to continue with my Bulgarian lessons which are coming on slow but sure. I am still not sure half the time what the people are saying to me as they talk to me as if i understand what they are saying sometimes i wonder what i am agreeing to and we think the other day Ken sold me by mistake for 4 Sheep. Still he said the sheep would come in handy!
I miss a lot of the English food things you take for granted like bisto marmite oxos fish and chips chinese you cant get this things over here so when i get back in March the first thing i am going to have is a Fish and chip supper yum.
Now the roads are getting cleared i will be able to visit the children in the orphange as i havent been over since christmas and i dont want them to think i have forgotten them.
I am going into the city tomorrow to get my hair done that should be an experience trying to explain what i want. Probably end up bald!
I will keep posting my blogs but at the moment there isnt much to report to you.
Once again thank you all for your kind emails phonecalls and thoughts. Looking forward to seeing you all in March
