G'day.

Today we had to get up early for our flight from Sydney to Melbourne at 7.15am. Flight was on time and we arrived in Melbourne at 8.45. Thinking it would be a good idea to get a taxi to our hostel we jumped in one at the airport to find that no sooner had we left the airport we hit bad traffic for 45 minutes!!!! The taxi ride ended up costing us 60 dollars! Not good for us hard-up backpackers!

We eventually arrived at our hostel and checked in; we then had a little look around Melbourne. It is quite good as we have a lovely beach 10 minutes from our hostel and there are loads of nice cafes. After exploring for a bit we joined our Neighbours tour!

First stop Erinsburgh High, which is actually a primary school and a dog school on a Saturday morning! They only use the school for filming outsides. After the school we visited the Neighbours studios. Most tours don't do this but they had one set open. The set we saw was the Grease Monkeys cafe, Carpenters Garage, the post box and bus stop! It sounds boring, but it was really cool. Guess who we got to meet?!!! Karl Kennedy! He came and shook our hands, we had pictures taken and got a signed postcard. He told us some soap news....Harolds leaving the soap and Marco dies in a few weeks. Karl also told us that Rachel (who is in the soap for non neighbours fans) is doing Panto in Norwich...so we had better books tickets. He also told us that she is previously from Norwich...so learnt something new. After the set we visited Ramsey street which is a lot smaller in real life and took lots of pictures.

After the tour we were dropped back at our hostel and have just been for a nice Fish and Chips tea at a cafe along the sea front. We are now going to have a Sudoku night as we have no tv in our room!
