Hi All

Well I heard that Roatan, the island next to Utila was hosting the annual Triathlon, so I couldn´t resist to get away for the weekend to see the race atmosphere and support the athletes.

Not knowing that it was just a 1 mile swim, 25 mile bike and 6 mile run, I would have entered the race myself, but being there was still a good feeling. For those that compete in adventure races like me I´m sure you know what I´m talking about, but when the competitors were coming running through on the beach the crowd was cheering and clapping which sent shivers down my spine...that was when I said to myself that when I get back to the UK I´m going to compete in more events myself. Boy am I missing my new bike and training.

I´m staying in West Bay - a beautiful white sandy beach, ideal for just relaxing and catching the rays for the quiet peeps, cos this travelling is hard work you know!!

Tomorrow I´m off to West End, just a water taxi ride away where there´s more life, bars and.......shopping - yes! I´ve not bought anything yet....well 3 hammocks in Belize, does that count?

Just a few more sleeps and Rob will be joining me in Honduras. I´m meeting Rob on Tuesday (20th) and I can´t wait. we spent the next month in Utila, hoping to work with the local dive centres on collecting data on the whale sharks. I´ve been here a month and still not seen one! :-)

This man has just walked into reception and he has a HUGE.....ahem...parrot on his shoulder and us Brits have cats or dogs as bets!
